Batman The Ride is a Six
Flags staple. Clones exist in 7 different parks (the original is in Six Flags
Great America) and even a few non-SF parks have the same ride. On the one hand,
I want to chastise Six Flags for cloning this coaster so many times rather than
getting something unique in each location, but honestly…if it ain’t broke, why
fix it?
Batman The Ride is one of
the best inverted coasters out there (not THE best, mind you). It takes most of
the major B&M elements (not counting the cobra roll) and balls them up into a
fast, tight, compact package. This ride feels much shorter than its actual run
time indicates, and there’s not a lot of time between elements to catch your
breath. If you’re a fan of inverted coasters (and who isn’t?), Batman is
definitely worth hitting.
Lines vary as the day
progresses. They can be very short in the morning, as the
Gotham
City area of the park is a bit out of the way. FLASH PASSers be warned: you
won’t be able to select your row, so if you want the front you’ll have to queue
up like everyone else. Also, keep your eyes open as sometimes Batman and Robin
will jump on and take a ride. Of course, they get to cut and take the front
row. Lucky guys.
