Water Rides and Transport Rides CP & LE Railroad - transport ride featuring steam powered engines. There's two train stops in the park - one is in the Frontier area near Mean Streak and Maverick; the other is located near Millennium Force. Traveling from Millennium Force to the frontier area, guests ride along the far edge of the park, providing a nice view of Lake Erie as well as Maverick. Traveling from the Frontier area to Millennium Force, however, you'll find the closest thing to a dark ride at Cedar Point: Boneville. This short area consists of three or four scenes of an old western town occupied solely by skeletons. Although taking the trains don't really get you from point A to point B any faster, they're still absolutely worth taking a ride on. Paddlewheel Excursions - If Boneville is the closest you get to a dark ride, I guess Paddlewheel Excursions would be the closest you get to the Jungle Cruise. Boats take passengers through the lagoons of Cedar Point. Along the way, you'll catch glimpses of early Americana scenes. The onboard skippers tell tons of (admittedly bad) jokes along the way. This is easily one of the most overlooked rides in the park. Sky Ride - just as the name implies, the sky ride provides riders with a birds-eye view of the main midway. Like the railroad, however, the time it takes to queue up, board, ride, and unload doesn't save any real time. But the view is quite nice...
Sky Ride (left), Thunder Canyon (center), CP&LE Railroad (right) Snake River Falls - every amusement park needs a shoot-the-chutes water ride, so here it is. A shoot-the-chutes is a very basic water ride that involves a boat going up a large lift, turning around, then plummeting 82 feet back down creating a big wave that drenches both riders and onlookers. I don't get the thrill here - if I wanted to get wet, I'd go play in the sprinkler or something. Don't confuse this type of ride with a flume; they're two different animals altogether. Space Spiral - Cedar Point's observation tower looms 330 feet over the park. Riders are treated to a spectacular 360 degree view of...well, pretty much everything. On one side you've got Lake Erie, on one side you've got Sandusky. Heck, can you see Canada up there? Oh, and of course you get a beautiful view of the entire Cedar Point peninsula. Thunder Canyon - this is a river-rapids ride featuring 12-person circular rafts that travel through a 1,600 foot course. Along the way there's plenty of rapids and waterfalls to efficiently drench everyone aboard. You will get wet; you may get drenched. It's all about your luck here.
