Carowinds Whitewater Falls
Named after an actual location in North Carolina, Whitewater Falls is a “shoot the chutes” ride, wherein riders are taken up a lift hill, turned around, and dropped 45 feet into the water, creating a massive wave that drenches all aboard. There is an observation area along the exit bridge so non-riders can watch (and get nailed by the aforementioned massive wave). If you’re burning in the Carolina sun, this is a quick way to cool off. Other than that, I really don't get the appeal of these types of rides (unless they're themed up like BGW's Escape From Pompeii).
