Carowinds

Eats

Carowinds food options veer mostly into "safe" territory.  There's nothing here that's terribly exotic or unusual - pretty much your standard issue burgers/chicken tenders/dogs stuff.

Breyers Ice Cream (located near the North Gate entrance in the Plaza area) offers hand scooped ice cream in cones or shakes

Carolina Fries (located in the County Fair area, across from the Southern Star) offers fries (duh) and chicken fingers

Chick-fil-A (located in Carowinds Plaza, directly across from the entrance to Rip Roaring Rapids) is a fast food staple.  This location offers the majority of the items available on a regular store's menu, although the prices are considerably jacked up.  Like the rest of the franchise, this eatery is closed on Sundays.

Cinnabon (located near the North Gate entrance, right next to Breyers) is a staple of the mall food court.  If you've never sampled their highly addictive variety of cinnamon rolls, you don't know what you're missing.  They also have coffee and hot chocolate for those three days of the year when it's cold.

Country Kitchen (located on the border of Carolina R.F.D. and the County Fair areas) serves up "Carowinds' Famous" fried chicken, hand pulled BBQ pork, salads, hot dogs, and desserts.  Indoor seating.

Happy Days Diner (located in Thrill Zone, directly in front of the Hurler) offers burgers, grilled chicken sandwiches, fries, and some remarkably decent milkshakes.  Very limited indoor seating.

Nicktoons Cafe (located in Nick Central, across from Rugrats Runaway Reptar) offers burgers, chicken tenders, pizza, kid's meals and salads.  Indoor seating.

Outer Hanks (located in the Carolina Boardwalk area, across from the Goldrusher) sells fried shrimp and fish, hand pulled BBQ pork, burgers and salads.  They also carry beer and frozen margaritas. Covered seating, but you'll still be fighting the flies.

Panda Express (located in Nick Central, across from Rocket Power Air Time) is a well-known Chinese eatery found in many food courts.  Unsurprisingly, the prices are quite inflated - a $4.99 combo in the food court will run you $8.99 here. Outdoor seating only.

Outback Shack (located in Boomerang Bay) sells burgers, chicken tenders, and salads.  Eating while looking at half the people in Boomerang Bay is a challenge I personally choose not to take.

Papa Luigi's (located in the Carolina Showplace, next to the Carowinds Theater) is new this season (previously this was a Subway).  They offer pizza, panini sandwiches, salads, and breadsticks.  Beer is served here as well.  Outdoor seating only, however.

Paradise Treats (located in Carolina R.F.D., near Scooby Doo) warrants recognition here as being a pretty darn nice candy shop.  In addition to the standard prepackaged sugary goodness, they also offer fudge and a variety of other made-on-site treats.

Plaza Funnel Cakes / South Gate Funnel (located near the North/South Gates) sell, well, funnel cakes. I'm more of an elephant ear guy.

The (CBS) Cafe (located next to the Chick-Fil-A in Carowinds Plaza) is currently going through an identity crisis.  Although the park maps still identify it as the CBS Cafe, all CBS logos have been removed from the signage.  Their menu includes pasta dishes and pizza. Beer is also on the menu. Limited indoor seating is available.

Wings (located in Carolina R.F.D., across from the entrance to Boomerang Bay) is probably the largest indoor eatery in the park.  Their selections include pizza, chicken fingers, burgers, chicken wings, salads and desserts.  Beer is also available at this location.

In addition to the eateries listed here, there are a plethora of stalls and kiosks throughout the park offering drinks and snacks.
