Drop Zone Stunt Tower

Man, when I think of movies that desperately needed a ride based on them, one of the first
things that pops into my head is the great Wesley Snipes/Gary Busey blockbuster "Drop
Zone."  Hey, remember that scene when...

Nah, I got nothing.  For the record, I did see it in theatres.  But, when you consider the
fact that I was working at the theatre at that time and got paid to screen movies on
Thursday nights, that's not a glowing endorsement.  If memory serves, it opened in our smallest auditorium.

What were we talking about?

Oh, right.  Drop Zone is a pretty decent little drop tower.  The entire structure is about 175 feet tall.  The freefall portion of the ride, however, clocks in at just over 100 feet.  Not the tallest drop tower out there with the name of Drop Zone, but it's still a fun enough ride.

When Paramount was in control, the recorded messages around the ride talked about how they were "casting stunt people" for scenes from the movie.  This is actually one case where I sincerely hope Cedar Fair drops theme.  I've had a difficult time convincing people that there actually was
a Drop Zone movie.

(maybe I made that picture too big.  I got nothing else to say here)
