TPS Report

Freestyle Music Park
(formerly Hard Rock Park)

Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

Looks like a few advertisers got the boot.

Zippo isn't a surprise, but Manchester Motorworks? Is that even a real company
(seriously, my Google-fu didn't come up with much).  Maybe it was an original investor's name?

Here's a picture lifted from last year.  The guitar in the stone is gone (the guy trying to lift it is still with us.)

We're in the former Punk Pit, now given the simple title "Jump." The child side inflatable has been severely downgraded from last year.
Hopefully the adult sized one is still in good shape.

Oh.  Or they've just replaced the incredibly awesome adult one with two more child size inflatables.

Crap.  Honestly, I've always felt that this thing was a lawsuit waiting to happen, so I can't feel bad about it being gone.

The buildings around Jump have been brightly painted. I have to admit, I think the aged, run down look was much cooler
but it may not be what they're thematically going for.

Clever sign is being clever.

Not sure why this name change was required, but it's cosmetic.

We were a bit hungry, so we settled for Penny Lane's Cafe.

The food was unimpressive.  My burger tasted like it was made from cheap meat, and
the texture of Karen's pizza indicated it had been left out far too long.

On the plus side, the food prices were definitely reduced.

On the double plus side, Fiesta Del Burro Loco is still only seven minutes away from the park...

Born in the USA is now Kids in America.

Lady Liberty lost her shades and no longer carries a zippo (hmmm,
and the Zippo logo was gone from the Piccadilly Circus sign.  Go figure)

Love Shack Snacks is now Ice Cream You Scream.

The area leading towards Grunge Station (formerly Garage Jam) looks pretty much the same.
I did notice some signage had been changed, to remove some of the double entendres
that were present.

But Whac a Boyband lives, so all is well in the world.

Lost in the 70s, thankfully, is no more.  They never really had a handle on that area anyways.

Grunge Station looks the same.
