TPS Report

Christmas in the Animal Kingdom
Orlando, FL
December 2008

Disney's Animal Kingdom gets all dolled up for the holiday season, too.

Their uniquely themed tree is outside the park's entrance.

Like all of their trees, this one is HUGE!

I love the lion with its tongue out.

The bottom of the tree is decorated with some of Disney's famous animal characters.

They even decorated the area between the ticket counters.

The floral sprays and balls are perfectly themed for the Animal Kingdom.

The wings on some of these butterflies move.

Here's a parting shot of the tree before we go in.

Hoboy.  Universal was packed.  Magic Kingdom was packed.
Animal Kingdom is looking busy too.  Maybe we should have
come down a little bit earlier...

The shops, which are already elaborate, get some holiday decorations for good measure.

When we walked by, the drummer was playing a rift from YYZ. Steve said "Nice." I tried to not let on that I didn't recognize it.

Sue the Dinosaur get's into the holiday spirit with a dino-sized Santa hat.

The decorations match the gawdiness of the area. I LOVED it.

That's a giant string of lights. Do you need some kind of special adaptor to plug them in?

The good news is Primeval Whirl is back up and running.
The bad news is SEVENTY MINUTE WAIT?!?

We didn't venture too deep into Africa, as there didn't seem to be much Christmas decorations there.
Do they know it's Christmastime at all?

We went ahead and wandered out of Animal Kingdom.  There's bigger fish to fry anyways.

Coming up next - Epcot
