ACE Spring Fling at Six Flags Over Georgia
March 27, 2010

page two

Okay, the temperature has popped a bit higher.
Let's get this party started.

Goliath was to be my vindication after the disastrous incident yesterday.
But, to be honest, I was more than a bit concerned - what if I was wrong
about Intimidator's restraints being narrower?  What if I really had gotten that bad?

The empty station dared me to try.
I almost said "nah, it's okay..."

But then Tommy reminded me of one of the BEST things about
Spring Fling: soaring over the crowds waiting to get into the park.

We had to wait almost a full 60 seconds to get on.
It was miserable.

But my concerns were unwarranted, and I had no problems riding.

And what a fantastic ride Goliath is.

I'm not going to cheerlead - there was a bit of a rattle,
especially in the helix.  But it's impossible to tell if
that's a ride issue or a "still kinda cold" issue.

I love Goliath's helix.

But I REALLY love the airtime hills on the way back into the station.

The overwhelming consensus seems to be that Intimidator would
be a much better coaster if it rocked bunny hills like this.

The last hop, right before the cameras, tries like hell to kick riders off.
Luckily, it hasn't been successful yet.

Satisfied with Goliath, we headed down to the Gotham City section of the park.

I might fit on Goliath, but I know damn well I can't get my butt on Crime Wave.
I'll get my wave swinger fix at Dollywood, thanks.

I really get a kick out of the Gotham area.  I'm glad
they haven't tried to "Dark Knight" things here.  It's
all colorful and Burtonesque.

(y'know, back when Burton made non-shitty films)

Early bloomers.
Yes, Karen has the camera again.

Getting ready to get our Schwarzkopf on.
Well, four of us are...
