King's Island
(2006/2007)

And the award for "most unnecessarily long queue" goes to Top Gun!

For the historically minded folks out there, Kings Island opened the first suspended coaster
in the world back in the early 80s. That first, The Bat, only hung around for four years before it
was put down due to high-maintenance costs.

Kings Island commissioned Arrow for a new suspended coaster in the early 90s, and this is
what they got.

Top Gun is a pretty decent little ride, but it's almost not worth the effort of going through
the long-ass line.  In my mind, Big Bad Wolf is still the top suspended coaster out there.

Rounding out the Action Zone is the lamest car track around.  One stupid oval.

Note to parks - you'll double your investment in this stuff if you build up.  Don't
underestimate the value of a dual-level go-kart track.  Look at the ones in
the Orlando area.  They maximize the buck with just as small a footprint.

Or, if you really wanted to make me happy, you'd get rid of all this "an extra fee is
required for this attraction" bullshit and give us our money's worth. We paid enough to get in!

The Coney Mall area is up next.  This pic is from the 2007 trip, which we
wisely scheduled the week of the most horrible, overbearing heat wave in years.

That kid in the blue shirt spontaneously combusted mere seconds after this pic was shot.

Rabid fans of the Brady Bunch will no doubt recognize the Racer from the "Cincinnati Kids"
episode.  Rabid fans of the Brady Bunch frighten me.

For many years, one side rode forwards while the other rode backwards.
That comes to an end in 2008, as Cedar Fair has discontinued the backwards
operations on all the former-Paramount racing coasters.  Lame!

Over here we have the bumper cars and the OH GOD MY EYES!

Swings.

Monster.  Octopus.  Whatever you want to call it, the simple
fact remains that it's BS we don't have any in the south.
