Carowinds - Intimidator Media Day
(March 26, 2010)
The opening ceremony ended, and some pyro was launched in celebration.
I wonder if people drove by the park thinking "HOLY SHIT they
blew
up the new roller coaster!"
This makes me extremely happy. However, I remember
Borg/Nighthawk
used to have a single rider line and it didn't last too long.
That's because people in the Carolinas can't have nice things.
The train returns to the station.
No clue why the front seats are empty.
The decals are an especially nice touch.
The sun finally got up high enough
to get some better quality pics.
Everything else was a bit underexposed.
Here's some of the butt end of the ride.
Alright, coaster geeks - how many things
can you find wrong with this shirt?
1. The ride's top speed is 75 mph, not 80.
2. Um, why is there Intamin track on the shirt?
Even Nighthawk looks decent today.
Not decent enough to want to ride, of course.
It has to be said that Carowinds threw one hell
of a shindig for Media Day.
The cake was pretty cool, but Kings Dominion's Intimidator 305
cake was provided by Ace of Cakes.
But holy hell, look at all the food. These guys
were shelling out boar. Yeah, boar.
Next door to him was a dude preparing pasta dishes.
Across from them was the gumbo...
...the lamb meatballs and funky mint sauce...
...but the most popular stuff was the sea bass and sliders.
How popular was it?
