Ghost Town in the Sky After much ado, we entered the actual "Ghost Town" area of the park. It was a little too much of a ghost town for my tastes, but it was admittedly 11 in the morning on a Sunday in the mountains of North Carolina. Only heathens are in the park at this hour anyway.
While some members of the group went to get their eat on, we went and took in the "Saloon Show." This show consists of singing and dancing...
That is, until an unruly cowboy wanders into the saloon...
Armed with horrible puns, he proceeded to heckle the folks on stage. I'm not sure whose side I was supposed to be on here...
Okay, it's not a great show. But it's still better than Beetlejuice's Musical Graveyard Revue. After the show (and eats), we moved on to the Heritage Square area. The big draw here will eventually be the Cliffhanger roller coaster. While Cliffhanger is a fairly simple looking ride, it benefits from (surprise) being on the edge of a freaking mountain. They're doing a lot of work to get this thing up and running by next season, and I for one can't wait to see it in action.
Until then, the Heritage Square area is a little sparse. There's a shooting gallery and a really nicely put together museum that honors the history of the park.
Look at the crowd in the picture below. I told you this place used to be a major draw...
There's nothing I can say about the below picture that will make it any more humorous.
As we exited the museum, however, our group took a little detour...whatever can it be? The answers to all life's mysteries can be found on Page 4 Click here to head back to ThemeParkSushi's main page |
